DisplayPort: How they compare Video and bandwidth DisplayPort 2.0 (16K resolution at 60Hz, 80Gbps).Instead, DisplayPort is most useful (and sometimes essential) for PC gamers because it can connect from a monitor to the PC’s dedicated graphics card, and it supports higher resolutions, higher refresh rates, and more bandwidth than HDMI. You won’t find a DisplayPort jack on your game console and your TV likely won't support it either. That approval process was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so DisplayPort 1.4 is currently the most recent usable version.ĭisplayPort is not nearly as mainstream as HDMI. HDMI has been used since 2003, so unless you’re planning to game on a CRT, your TV or monitor almost certainly supports HDMI. HDMI stands for high-definition multimedia interface, and the cable allows users to transfer high-definition video and audio to a connected TV or monitor. But what are the benefits and limitations of each format? And which option is right for your display? Here's what you should know about HDMI and DisplayPort cables and the best options available in each format. HDMI and DisplayPort cables both allow you to transfer multiple audio channels and high-definition video from your gaming device to your display of choice. If you’re looking to connect your PC or console to a TV or gaming monitor, there’s a good chance you have multiple options and even more cables.

![]() We’d say this is due to both the app’s great workflow, visual feedback and the fact that we’ve used Max For Live in the past, which has some similar behaviours. It didn’t take us long before we felt comfortable with creating and wiring nodes. This gives everything a very iPad-like feel on your computer, but does, of course, require a trackpad. ![]() Pinch-in/out gestures on a trackpad zooms you in and out, and you can click to drag things around. The templates include a subtractive synth, additive synth, filter and kick drum synth to give you an idea of what Audulus can do. Some templates are provided and we looked through these to get an idea of how things worked and interacted with each other. Point and Click Loading the standalone version first, we were greeted with an introduction video that explained the basics of getting around the app. With two platforms to choose from, we tested this on our Mac before seeing what benefits touch-control brings. Perform this process over a blank space and you’ll open a node-insert menu instead. Node parameters and properties can be altered with a single -click or press-and-hold by touch (Mac and iPad versions respectively). The most obvious and intentional difference is that Audulus’ developers have opted for a much cleaner, simpler interface design. You can move each object around (referred to as nodes) and wire up each node graphically, making it visually easy to understand. To the Max Anyone who has used Max, Max For Live or Reaktor will be familiar with the graphical, modular approach Audulus takes to represent a signal path. And it’s not only for synthesis, either, as it can also process incoming audio… However, it wasn’t until we started our testing that we discovered the true nature of Audulus and fully appreciated how its modular approach makes it quite unique. Audulus takes a similar approach to NLog in that it’s a synth that will run on the iPad and Mac as well as being an AU plug-in. When it comes to standalone synth apps we’d say NLog’s excellent synthesizer wins the popularity contest, and it’s available as a standalone product and AU/VST plug-in for the Mac as well as an iOS app. There aren’t many audio applications out there that span the domains of both desktop computer and portable device – Apple’s GarageBand sequencer possibly being the best known. ![]() It is an online tool that enables you to create any type of diagrams and charts including flowcharts. Some groups express perplexity, however, in relation to what the Instrumentum Laboris refers to as a “a penitential path”. With regard to the divorced and civilly remarried, there is general agreement about the need to provide more effective pastoral accompaniment for these couples, and especially for their children who also have rights. We believe that in them we see the Spirit of the Lord Who inspires much of their behaviour in their lives, and this detracts nothing from Christian families whom we support and encourage”. “Divided families, mixed families, single parent families, families without marriage, even civil only we cannot reject them, and we do not wish to think that their path does not lead them to God, Who loves and draws all people towards Him. “We know that that are many other families who feel they are far from the ideal model, and others who to a greater or lesser extent do not even think it is for them”, comments the French group represented by Bishop Laurent Ulrich. ![]() We were prepared to recognise that there may be good in the relationship of those cohabiting rather than in cohabitation in some quasi-institutional sense”. Vatican City, 21 October 2015 (VIS) – On Monday and Tuesday this week the Synod Fathers examined the third part of the Instrumentum Laboris, which deals with, among other themes, irregular family situations, admission of divorced and remarried faithful to communion, the pastoral care of homosexuals, and responsible parenthood. ![]() And as you may have guessed, Path displays the partitions.įor instance, if you had several files on your SD card in various formats, Type will organize them into Pictures, Videos, Audio, etc., while Time will show you the last modified dates, respectively.Īnd all those details make it simple to spot and recover the lost files, especially if you know when the specific partition or drive when they were last modified. While Type segregates the data as per the file types, Time categorizes the files as per their modified dates. Once the scan is complete, iBeesoft sorts the data into Path, Type, and Time. Clever CategorizationĪnother feature that stands out is the clever segregation of data. When you need to resume again, a click on the Play button will do the trick. Just hit the Pause button at the top, and that takes care of the matter. If you are scanning a huge drive, you can pause the scan in the middle. The feature that stands out is the nifty Pause button. On top of it, the recovery process runs in the background without hampering your workflow. That makes it easy to plan your work around it. Interestingly, when you start a scan, the tool will display the time required for the scan to complete. So that helps to widen the scope of recovering your data. IBeesoft supports a wide variety of file types and formats. That will prevent the files from being overwritten with new ones, thus making the data recovery process simple and easy. The only precaution you need to take is not to modify the drive further. So if you have deleted the DCIM folder from your DSLR’s memory card, it can still be recovered. So, what happens when you delete a file from your PC? When you hit the Shift+Delete button or format a disk, only the indexing of that specific file is removed and not the files in question. But before we get down to that, let’s have a quick brief on how data recovery tools like iBeesoft works. ![]() So, the image exported from the RAW app might look bad (contrast, sharpness, color saturation, etc.) but it provides the best starting point for massaging in the main editing app (PShop, Affinity, etc.) What they do is open the RAW image and use its tools to get the best image (one with the most information and least artifacts) to work with in the main editing app. I'm not sure, but it seems like that is only for Mac (I use PC).Īlso, a (some?) lot of people don't do their image editing on the RAW file. I'll have to look into DXO Optics Pro, especially since it has a trial.Īs many others have done, you might consider Affinity Photo instead of Photoshop for your image editing. Though, maybe I was just missing things (I have gotten used to how to select things easily and the layout of Photoshop Elements, which is probably similar to the layout of the full version of Photoshop). I actually tried the trial version of Capture One, and while the RAW editing was really easy to learn, I didn't see as much in terms of editing as in Photoshop. Their raw conversion is very good and their automatic frame wide functions are easy to use. Use their 30 day trial of the elite version and see for yourself. If you want to see a big improvement quickly and easily, shoot some raw and try DXO optics pro. For the utmost capability Photoshop is the leader, but it isn't the easiest and best place to start. There are some integrated total solutions such as ADCsee. To keep track of your images there are several DAMs that are just as good or better than Lightroom: Daminion, Imatch, PhotoSupreme. Capture One ia also excellent for raw conversion and image processing. You can get excellent raw conversions and image processing capability using DXO optics pro. There are two primary functions provided by Lightroom and Photoshop, digital asset management (DAM) and image processing. I don't want to be held captive to paying Adobe whatever they demand. I decided to rid myself of CC simply because Adobe is starting to look a bit like my former cable TV company. If you become dependent upon Lightroom features you can find yourself unable to easily move to something else because of all the work you have done there. The question is whether you want to get locked into CC for the future. Note, I am not a professional, photography is my main hobby, but I have become very involved with it and want to really work towards improving my work.Īdobe CC is a good deal today with it's $9.99/month price. ![]() Is it a good deal? Are there other alternatives that may be better? Or any thoughts/opinions on this. I am curious what more experienced users of these products (or even this subscription service) have to say about it. I have never used full Photoshop and never used Lightroom. I believe all updates will be included in the price, which to me, doesn't seem that bad of a deal. I see they have the Creative Cloud plan designed just for photography ($9.99 a month for Lightroom and Photoshop). One limitation I continually have in Elements is the lack of local adjustments for RAW editing (it is just a universal adjustment, which isn't really helpful when you need to adjust part of the photograph without over exposing the sky or something bright). All I have right now is Photoshop Elements 14, which hasn't been bad, but now I'm getting to the point where all the tutorial videos I am watching are for the full version of Photoshop (I am looking at portrait editing - that doesn't look fake and plastic, which is usually off putting but for whatever reason is very popular - and different landscape editing techniques). I want to really spend 2017 getting good at post processing. ![]() The English usage, referring specifically to household objects, is specific to that language French and other Romance languages as well as German use variants of the word meubles, which derives from Latin mobilia, meaning "moveable goods". Thus fourniture in French means supplies or provisions. The English word furniture is derived from the French word fourniture, the noun form of fournir, which means to supply or provide. One unique outgrowth of post-modern furniture design is a return to natural shapes and textures. The first three-quarters of the twentieth century are often seen as the march towards Modernism. The nineteenth century is usually defined by revival styles. The seventeenth century, in both Southern and Northern Europe, was characterized by opulent, often gilded Baroque designs. Furniture design expanded during the Italian Renaissance of the fourteenth and fifteenth century. The furniture of the Middle Ages was usually heavy, oak, and ornamented. The evolution of furniture design continued in ancient Greece and ancient Rome, with thrones being commonplace as well as the klinai, multipurpose couches used for relaxing, eating, and sleeping. This era saw constructed wooden pieces, including stools and tables, sometimes decorated with valuable metals or ivory. Complex construction techniques such as joinery began in the early dynastic period of ancient Egypt. The first surviving extant furniture is in the homes of Skara Brae in Scotland, and includes cupboards, dressers and beds all constructed from stone. Early furniture from this period is known from artwork such as a Venus figurine found in Russia, depicting the goddess on a throne. Archaeological research shows that from around 30,000 years ago, people started to construct and carve their own furniture, using wood, stone, and animal bones. People have been using natural objects, such as tree stumps, rocks and moss, as furniture since the beginning of human civilization and continues today in some households/campsites. Furniture can be made using a variety of woodworking joints which often reflects the local culture. It can be made from a vast multitude of materials, including metal, plastic, and wood. In addition to furniture's functional role, it can serve a symbolic or religious purpose. Furniture can be a product of design and can be considered a form of decorative art. ![]() ![]() Furniture is also used to hold objects at a convenient height for work (as horizontal surfaces above the ground, such as tables and desks), or to store things (e.g., cupboards, shelves, and drawers). Once they are on the field, any Viscera Seer or Ashnod’s Altar effect can sacrifice the creature to give Rayami blood counters. Rayami is going to do really well with small creatures, using mana dorks like Birds of Paradise and Sylvan Caryatid as cheap ways to put down weak creatures with strong keywords. Where Mairsil exiles a card upon his entrance to gain its activated abilities, Rayami waits for creatures to die, and gains their combat abilities, in similar fashion to Cairn Wanderer or Soulflayer. Similar to Kadena, Rayami, First of the Fallen is reminiscent of another former commander that shares two of its colors: Mairsil the Pretender. If you are looking for ways to get started on building this commander, consider using the Animar Morph theme page as a model for some shared Simic cards to begin a brutal brew. I think Kadena is a welcome commander to the Sultai combination, and as the face card of the faceless deck, will probably see a decent amount of play in the months to come. Morph creatures are a lot more difficult for your opponents to play around when they don't know whether you might suddenly flip over a removal spell! Meanwhile, black adds more options for removal with the likes of Bane of the Living, Aphetto Exterminator, Silumgar Assassin, or Skinthinner. The only significant red Morph-themed cards are Akroma, Angel of Fury, Jeering Instigator, Dwarven Blastminer, Fortune Thief, and Ashcloud Phoenix. Kadena and Animar share two colors, blue and green, but differ on the third, with Animar's third being red and Kadena's being black this opens up a lot of other doors that Animar can't access. Don't forget, too, that Kadena says "each turn," meaning that if you have the newly-reprinted Leyline of Anticipation in play, you can cast a free Morph on your opponents' turns! Kadena decks may even employ self-bounce effects to continually recast Morphs precisely to take advantage of this value train. After some initial investment, Animar will allow you to play more Morphs for free, allowing you to rapid-fire them into play all at once, while Kadena will discount just one at a time, refilling her hand in a way Animar does not (at least, not without extra support). While Ezuri gains experience counters from Morphs and Ixidor directly supports face-down creatures, Animar is the closest comparison we can make to how Kadena should be evaluated in the format. (This is very important for cards like Ghastly Conscription, since Kadena will draw cards for each of the face-down creatures!) Morph as a theme certainly has a niche following, as there are 465 Morph decks in the EDHREC database, with Animar, Soul of Elements, Ixidor, Reality Sculptor, and Ezuri, Claw of Progress as the three main commanders. In addition, she provides card advantage by drawing a card every time a face-down creature enters the battlefield under your control, which notably counts for both Morph and Manifest cards. Barring any effects that increase costs, Kadena reduces the first Morph you cast each turn by three mana, making it free to play. ![]() Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer is the face card of the Sultai Morph deck. Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer We have a Morph commander, a Voltron commander, and a counter-based commander, all of which seem to be really interesting and exciting to build! While we have only received two new Morph cards, we also received several new non-commander cards that can fit into a variety of decks. This time around, we've received three new Sultai commanders that all seem to have fairly niche roles and themes while still maintaining some versatility. ![]() Sultai has received many new toys and a few new commanders to play with over the last couple of years, including Muldrotha the Gravetide and Yarok, the Desecrated, both of which have become popular as extremely versatile commanders that can cater to several playstyles.
